TransforM Seminar Series kicks off with a talk from Patricia Hein

Patricia Hein from Ivey Business School in Canada kicked off our TransforMSeminar Series on February 26th in Garching. Prof. Hein is an Assistant Professor of Sustainability and her research focuses on the interplay of organizations and society.

Specifically, Patricia focuses her latest work on inequality and on how marginalized groups navigate their work lives. In her presentation, she shared insights from a study on how wealthy social change agents seek to drive societal transformation.

The discussion that followed explored why some members of privileged groups engage publicly in debates about redistribution, while others work more privately within their own circles to advocate for change that challenges their own advantages. Given the ongoing debates about wealth distribution and inequality, we greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn from individuals and initiatives that take responsibility and advocate for greater justice.

We thank Prof. Hein for sharing her work with us and look forward to the next addition of the TransforM Speaker Series.
